Speedwell Veronica persica Poiret
Introduced to the UK in the 19th centaury, Speedwell likes
open land rather than borders. It is especial fond of vegetable patches, where
it can appear literally overnight.
Speedwell can spread by root or seed and it is a perfect
example of the old saying "one year's seed is seven years weed" if a
patch of speedwell is allowed to flower, and if it likes your soil, you will be
fighting it for years.

How to kill Speedwell:
Chemical Options:
A Diquat based weed killer will work, but by the time it is big enough to be
worth spraying, it will probably already have seeded everywhere.
Organic Options:
Just hoe, hoe and hoe again; someday you may eventually get rid of it.
If you have good way of beating Speedwell, please
