Bindweed Convolvulus arvensis
Bindweed is a nightmare weed that climbs up and strangles
tall growing plants, and sprawls over and suffocates shorter plants. It is an
absolute nightmare to get rid off.

How to kill bindweed:
Chemical Options:
Put sticks in the ground to trick bindweed into growing up them instead of your
plants. When you've got a nice and large bindweed plant, spray it with a
Glyphosate based weed killer. Organic
Options:
Dig it up; bindweed roots are bright white and easy to spot, but make sure you
get the entire root out; even the tinniest bit will regrow. If you use a weed
suppressant fabric over the a affected areas for a few weeks beforehand, it
will bring the roots up to the surface of the soil were they will be easier to
find.
Alternative options:
I have heard that bindweed is considered a delicacy by
tortoises. If you have confirmation on whether or not this is true, please
let me know.
